Shared on Fri, 03/21/2008 - 15:02I thought I'd come back and comment some more on Smash Bros. Forget every review you have read so far about it...it really IS Smash Bros. at it's core like I said earlier. But something went horribly [/sarcasm] wrong
Someone went and stuck an RPG into my Smash Bros. game
Let me explain. The "Subspace emissary" adventure game sounded to me like a pretty lame adventure mode rehash from the gamecube version. I started to play it and at first, it seemed like my impressions. However, the more I started to play, the more I realized that the game is FREAKING long. I am 4 hours into it and i'm only 40% done. 40% done! That blows me away.
the RPG aspect is that for the most part, you never own one character. You start off as Mario or Pikachu and then story goes from there (and what a story it is) you will change characters about the same time you get sick of playing that character. Which I loved also, it gives you a chance to really get used to the moves of all the characters. The other RPG aspect is stat boosting. Yep...stat boosting. Through the game, you collect trophies, just like in Melee, but there are also Stickers in the game. When playing this single player mode, the Stickers act as Stat Boosters that can help your character do more damage, less resistant to throws, etc etc. It makes the game more involved, if you ask me (and you did if you're still reading this)
This single player game alone is worth the money for this game. The multiplayer...what made SSB famous...is icing on the cake to me. i'm enjoying the adventure game way too much.
SSB is no longer worth checking out, you've got to buy it. That is an order :)
....
That is all.
