Halo 300

For those who missed it, Spartan John-117 now has 300 Million more reasons to smile behind that shiny glass faceplate as Halo 3 sold $300M in it's first week.  I believe MS was "hoping" for $200M.  Wow.  If reports of a 4.2M initial press quantity are to be believed, that means they sold damn near every single one of 'em.

Also, weekly console sales are said to have doubled since the release, so Go Microsoft!  Apparently, holiday bundles with Forza and Marvel : UA are right around the corner. 

To counter, it sounds like Sony is digging back into their bag of tricks and readying a $400 version of their PS3 but it's not yet clear what the specs will be (whether it will be another 20GB unit with stripped down specs - no HDMI, Wifi, etc)

I'm trying to figure out if I care that the Wii is completely owning the console war so far and I'm not sure that I do.

Last but not least, maybe MS will take some of the money they made from Halo and put it towards building a better OS.  Bah dum psh!
