I am a sensitive artist.

First of all, a cookie for anyone who knows the obscure misic reference in my title.

The difference between a fact and an opinion. According to the American Heritage Dictionary, a fact is "knowledge or information based on real occurrences," while an opinion is "a belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated." Children generally grasp these definitions quite easily.  "Dad is wearing a red hat today." Theres no disputing that; it can be proven because Im standing right in front of them with a hat that can only be described as red. If we augment the sentence by saying, "Dad is wearing a cool red hat today," they acknowledge that the word "cool" is an opinion.

You may be wondering why I have even bothered to mention this. The reason is simple. When I state my opinions, they are not wrong or right, they are simply opinions. Facts can be proven wrong, but opinions can not. Opinions can be disagreed with, but only a petty and rather small person ridicules another for beliefs they hold. I feel the need to clear that up first because this entire post is me waxing over an opinion. In no way am I clambering up on a soapbox to spout ideals that I expect everyone to embrace. This is also the case in all posts I make.

Allow me to elaborate by drawing an analogy to pro-wrestling.  I am an avid fan of World Wrestling Entertainment. Within the confines of the squared circle there are enemies and heroes, or heels and faces. It has always been my desire to be a face, and yet sometimes in the world I usually end up squarely as a heel. People love to hate me for some reason. It seems that recently some of my posts are met with ridicule and held up to scorn. Being that I am a sensitive person, this hurts me greatly, and yet it follows the function of a heel. Make people hate you, revel in their hatred. They will keep tuning in to see what youre going to do next. My favorite WWE heel is Triple-H. Oh how I hate him. I hate him so much that now I love to hate him. He is the epitome of a perfect heel.

Sometimes I feel that the forums and blog posts have turned into one big wrestling ring. We provoke one another intentionally or not. We revel in the responses people give. We ridicule others for their beliefs and write one another off as a right winger or a liberal kook.

While I hope the things I say in te forums will be met with interest, either by like minded individuals or those curious to see an opposing point of view, I fear all I will end up doing is generating more heel-heat. So be it. It is not my intention to "stir the pot" as it were, but merely to give my opinion. You may agree or disagree, but you cant say that it is right or wrong. Its simply my opinion. Ill respect you. Please repsect me.

Smoke is the 2O2P heel. Everyone likes to boo him and laugh when he loses. Good blog though. Some people take things a little to seriously sometimes, but thats what keeps things interesting. As Mr CodeMonkey told me, "Dont take everything people say to heart."

So true, and sometimes a post doesnt come across the way you expect, and things get taken out of context. And repeat. No matter how many of these discussins we have had in our clan forum, we dont all agree on everything but we dont hate each other for not sharing the same view, if only everyone was this understanding.
