Since we've moved to this house a year ago, the garage windows have been broken, the garage has been broken into (nothing stolen) the stereo has been stolen out of my Jeep, my Mustang was egged, a window was broken out of the Jeep (last week) and the stereo was stolen from the Jeep again (2 days ago). The first time the Jeep was broken into and the radio stolen it was funny because the CD player had just quit working a week before. It was still some work because I had to get a wiring harness and a mounting kit to put in a new stereo. I went to Wal-Mart and got the cheapest one I could find. Good thing too. I have a nice Sony CD player that a friend gave me, but now I'm a little weary of installing it in the Jeep.
I never lock the car, and some of you are saying "What an idiot." but this last incident proves me right. We found a large rock on the floor of the Jeep. This rock did not come from my yard, or anywhere near my house from what I can tell. So, what was it doing there? My guess is that they were going to break the windows, but found the car unlocked. I still haven't gotten a replacement for the window that was broken last weekend. Of course all of this is out of pocket expense too.
This is supposed to be a nice neighborhood too.
