Battlefield Bad Company 2 in the shadow of MW?

Battlefield Bad Company 2

The all mighty Modern Warfare may be getting it's arch enemy. This installment has grown leaps and bounds over the first Battlefield Bad Company and it has been a big sleeper hit among FPS fans. I say Sleeper hit because most gamers had flocked to the newest MW game to come out. The following behind BFBC2 has grown instead of decreased. This game has it all and I feel goes beyond MW.

The Sounds

First anyone with a good sound system will tell you, that BFBC2's sounds are par none to another FPS. Dice has put there heart and soul to making this game sound good as well as play like a champ. The first time you have a rocket smash into a wall next to you and your ears start to ring. You will have to remember that rubbing your own hears will not help. When I am looking out a window of a old building and the shutter outside is smacking against the building and I can hear it. OMG nerd orgasm. I really enjoy when the wife takes off for the day and I can really crank up the volume. (of course I wounder if the people next door duck for cover as the sound of a motor strike drops in).

The Sights

The game is very well displayed for the scope of the maps. I could mention a game that is large, but also suffers in the graphics department. However I won't, but I will share its initials MAG. As I mentioned above about the sound window shutter, that small detail is the same reason this game stands above many FPS for me. That same shutter moves in the wind, as well as when a explosion pushes it. This goes for the glass in the windows and the the wall that splinters away as a RPG ruptures is security. The graphics are not perfect as there are some frame rate drops in heavy gun fire areas, but nothing that ruins the experience. Overall  Dice has made the environment come to life.

Gameplay

Battlefield plays as solid as any shooter should play in this day and age. There is always things that can use improvements like when getting hit and ducking on the other side of a building you are still getting hit by bullets, but I think that is more due to sever lag then anything else. Also Dice was plagued with server issue at the launch of the game , but everything seems to have been smoothed out. You can't be made at a developer too long that adds a server status on there website for a console game. This game has all that MW has and more. The environment is destructible, the vehicles in the game add a twist and the size of the maps. When you group up with your friends and work as a team in this game, it really shows in the stats at the end of the game. One man can not win the game, as it takes a whole team to win any of the modes the game has to offer.

Conclusion

Overall BFBC2 is a great game and slowly has built up steam as being a reveal to MW series. This game to me is a must own and if you get the limited edition version, which is the same price as a regular copy you will get a lot of the up coming DLC for free. That's right Dice is giving you it's first couple of map packs too you. unlike  some other guys who charge an arm and a leg. I hope to see more people take advantage of this game and support the Dice team by getting you a new copy to play with friends. I think BFBC2 will step out of the shadow of MW and may even rise above it.

I felt this way about BFBC and BFBC2 has only increased my admiration for DICE. I find BFBC2 to be such a superior game over MW2 that I've stopped playing MW2 completely. And if you think the sound is good, get yourself headphones like the Tritton AXPros. It's like going from playing in black in white to 1080p color.

It's too early in the AM for me to read all that, but.... I heart BFBC. We have tons of fun and lots of laughs in that game.

I like the game, but I think graphically it in no way compares to MW2. I also still prefer MW2's multiplayer. I do like the size of BFBC2's maps.
