Turn signals

Why is it everyone feels the need to start tailgating when the car in the next lane puts on their turn signal?  Should we just not use them and cut in anyway?

because noone wants to be the sucker? merging traffic is supposed to yield to nonmerging traffic--many people don't know what that word means--if I slow down so you can get in I am yielding to you and have caused a ripple effect in the flow of traffic for potentially miles behind us. Traffic would flow MUCH better if people realized that by being nice they screw things up for everybody.

lol Meemoos! I thought just the opposite! I was behind a woman the other day and she had her blinker on to turn right...she comes to a complete stop the waits for a min and turns LEFT. Dumb bitch could have gotten in the turning lane for goodness sakes! lol :) I know that doesn't help you Eks but at least you know you're not the only one that goes though it! :þ

I forgot to add the people who get in a right hand turn only lane that has a big ass white arrow pointed on the ground to help you out, and they don't manage to realize it until they get to the turn.
