Shared on Fri, 03/23/2012 - 09:19Last night i played all the new maps for MW3 for the first time. Even though I'm an Elite subscriber, I have not had the chance. I've been too busy with SWTOR. Also, I'm not a big fan of the way they handled it. To me, it never makes sense to split the community. If they wanted to give Elite subscribers exclusive access, it should really be only a week or 2. 2old2shoot is an active COD clan and we run a full clan night every Wednesday night. Not every member is an Elite Subscriber, so we could never play the maps. Just kind of sucks. Seriously Game Devs, DON'T SPLIT YOUR COMMUNITY!
Also, COD Elite can kiss my ass. I will not purchase it again. The web site and all it's added "perks" just out right suck. Halo and BF3 web pages are so much better and they're both free. I just don't really see what the service gives me. Sure I get all the DLC, but that's not really what the service was about. That was just to get suckers to sign up for Elite. The game has been out for 4 months now and they just release their first map pack? At this rate I only really expect 1 more map pack to come out. So my extra $40 will pay for $30 of maps. Best case scenario is that they'll hit 3 packs but I am not holding my breath.
That's enough bitching, all game companies suck. Let's talk about the maps.
Piazza
This is a small map that I'm still learning. There are so many hallways and walkways that criss-cross that I feel I'm constantly caught in a cross-fire. I have only played TDM and Kill Confirmed on this map. It plays well and very fast. I'll probably like this map a lot better once I learn it. It's not a bad map, just nothing special.
Liberation
Liberation seems like a map that I would really enjoy. It's a map designed for multiple styles of play. You can have both long range and close quarter battles. The map is a great choice for Domination. I have played TDM and Kill Confirmed on this map and they played just ok. The main problem is how Timmy plays the map. They all want to run sniper classes and sit in the far corners of the map. I'm not sure how they expect to win a Kill Confirmed match this way, but it's how they play it. I would really like this map if I didn't have to play with timmy on it. As it stands, Liberation is my least favorite map in the DLC.
Overwatch
This is a pure Call of Duty map and I love it. It's a small map and you'll see plenty of action. Domination, TDM and Kill Confirmed play great, I love the fact that B is a pain in the ass to get. The map reminds me of Highrise from MW2 but really only for the style. Not only is this one of my favorite DLC maps, it's one of my favorite maps in the game.
Black Box
While I only got to play Black Box once, it is my favorite map in the DLC and probably the game. It's a good sized COD map that offers something for everyone. I really liked how vertical the map is. The buildings and plane have multiple levels. I only played domination on this map and I thought it played great and really look forward to putting more time into this map. This will probably be a 2Old2Shoot Clan night favorite.
On a side note, 2Old2Shoot is openly recruiting. We are a FPS clan that mostly plays CoD titles. We're hoping to expand that to Counter-Strike and Ghost Recon in the near future. If you're looking for a good natured clan that has a great weekly clan night, shoot me a PM and I'll get you in.

I agree on your comments about elite. That's the last time for me, too.
Piazza - I just wish they could have put some more stairs in the map. Or another fountain.
I like Liberation and Overwatch. And, thanks to the splitting of the community, I haven't played black box yet... except for that one girl in high school.

This is how I see Piazza, especially after a few beers.

Nice post to read on.Let me share something too.Near-field communication (NFC) technology permits a consumer to wave their mobile phone at a point-of-sale terminal to buy via the use of a “digital wallet.” One of the fast-growing instances of the digital wallet is the appropriately known as Google Wallet, but it pays to know just a little bit about how it works before you dive in to the cashless (and cardless) retail revolution.
