I played so much Plants vs. Zombies.  In fact, for a period of time that game was being played on not 1, not 2, but 4 different devices in my house at the same time!  I always thought that PvZ was a special game.  It's the kind of game that grabbed both adults and kids.

PvZ2 is out for iOS.  I haven't played it yet, but hope to soon.   While I thought the iPad version of PvZ was pretty good, and it's an ideal game for that type of interaction, I always preferred the PC version.    I hope it releases on pc sooner rather than later.  Are you looking forward to PvZ2?

I prefer it on 'touch' devices myself. Hated having to drag a pointer around to pick up sunshines. I assume PC has/had more game types or challenges?

phone/tablet/vita/ps3 versions played.

I got the first one for free on Nintendo DS and played it through. I loved it. I think it was all touch based with the stylus. My only concern with this one is how annoying will the free to play be?

This one is pretty fun. The F2P version isn't annoying, really. You just have to work a little harder to get the necessary keys or stars to unlock different plants and worlds. I've played thru the first level, Egypt, but still have to gather enough stars to unlock the stargate. So it's got a pretty decent replay factor with a bunch of challenges for different levels, such as only use so many plants at once, or can't spend more than so much sun. It's a fun game, and I prefer it on the iPad, but the phone is just as good.
