Save The Whale!

I haven't played a hockey game since Blades of Steel on the NES (or was it Genesis?) BUUUUUT, if I can play as the Whale in NHL 11 I'm gonna get it. My buddies rave about how good 10 was and I have to admit, I'm a bit jealous and feeling left out. It's just that I haven't played a hockey game, well actually, any sport game in well just about a decade. Add the fact that I barely follow hockey and I'm possibly setting myself up for a disaster. I think it would be fun to get involved in a friendly league though. SOOOO, I know I'm not gonna be competitive for a long time so I may as well play as a defunct team right? P.S. The dude that originally owned the Whalers is trying to get another NHL team back to CT. The city of Hartford owned the rights to the Whalers but those rights just lapsed in June. It's kind of funny cuz now I'm seeing Whalers gear everywhere around here...even in Boston. I think may go pick up a hat.
