Back from the Ukraine

Wow.  It sure feels good to get back to the family.  I had a great time in the Ukraine, but there is nothing like snuggling up to your wife in a bed that you are familiar with.

Here is what we did.

May 9 - Travel
May 10 - Travel.  We arrived at 2:00 pm Local time which was 7:00 am EST
May 11 - Start work on the garage.
                Tasks:  Put a roof on a new garage
                               Backfill the foundation to get it ready to pour a cement floor.
                               Play with the kids that live at the house.
May 12 - Continue to work on the garage.
May 13 - Church and tour the City of Odessa
May 14 - Continue to work on the garage.
May 15 - Continue to work on the garage.
May 16 - More tour of the City, Visit Privost Market and Tour of the  Odessa Catacombs
May 17 -  Continue to work on the garage.
May 18 -  Continue to work on the garage.
May 19 -  Travel for Home.  Over night in Vienna
May 20 - Arrive Home 10:00 pm Sunday night ( my body thinks it is 5:00 am Monday Morning)

In a previous post I talked about how there was difficulty working with the wood because of the non - consistency of it.  That really slowed us down a lot.  If we had better lumber we could have gotten a lot more done.  However, the garage is totally boarded in.  We finished boarding in the walls and the got the trusses built and the OSB on roof.  We got the inside of the garage ready to pour concrete and backfilled the foundation on the outside.  All the dirt was moved using shovels and wheel barrels.  Man, I would have killed for a Bobcat.

It was a lot of work and we had a lot of fun.  I will post pictures later on.

I don't have to go to work today until 12 pm however all you know what broke loose while I was gone so I am sitting here doing laundry and working on the SQL server from home.  NOT the way I wanted to come back from vacation.
