Standing in Line at Disney World

Yes.. .Standing in Line at Disney World.  A necessary evil.  Yesterday we took our 3 year old to visit WDW and we stood in line, over and over again.  Since she is 3 we can't do many of the rides and this trip was about her so no Space Mountain, no Big Thunder Railroad.

So arrive at WDW and watch Mickey's big Dream Show at the castle.  My daughter says she wants to see it again....
Go to Mickeys Toon Town and stand in line for the "Princesses" autographs (90 minutes).  We see Belle, Aurora, and Cinderella.  hmm.. not bad looking.

LUNCH - takes forever and is expensive.

Head over to get Ariel's autograph and see Tigger so we get in line for tigger's autograph
Then we see pooh so we get in line for pooh's autograph.
Get to "Ariel's Grotto" and get in line for her autograph.  Over a 1 hour wait.  Ariel is not bad looking but she needs to do some crunches to tighten up her stomach.
My Wife takes our daughter and goes on Dumbo's flying carpet ride.   My daughter cries because the ride is over and wants to do it again.

We see "Mary Poppins" and get her autograph

My daughter starts to fall asleep so we head into Mickey's Philharmonic 3D show... WRONG MOVE... Very loud music and my daughter wakes up and is scared.  She gets over it and puts on the 3D glasses and has blast trying to catch stuff that is coming at her.  Wants to see it again.

We get in line for "It's A Small World" and my daughter falls asleep and sleeps through the whole ride.  - Smart Girl.....

Leave Fantasyland and head over to Frontierland.  The daughter is sleeping. I am watching the daughter and laughing at people and the way they dress.  Have you ever noticed that most people dress most inappropriately?  To much flesh exposed and burnt.

So we get over to Frontierland and then realize we want to go to Adventureland.  I watch the child while the mother-in-law and wife shop.

They spot "the Genie" and get in line for his autograph and then Jasmine joins him.  My daughter wakes up and they get both of their autographs.

Get in line for Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride.  When the ride is over she cries that she wants to do it again.  She even buckles the seat belt back.

Head over to "Pirates of the Caribean".  In true Disney style it has been changed and now Jack Sparrow and Barboosa are in it.

8:20 - Time for Supper.

Eat Supper
Watch the parade
Watch the Fireworks.

Make like the rest of the masses and head for home.
Oops - Stores.  Time to Shop...
Go out to catch the 11:00 shuttle bus.
Missed it...
Caught the midnight bus.  Daughter still going strong... Did I tell you she is 3....

202 dollars tickets
42 dollars food
40 dollars souvenirs

5 rides
9 autographs and pictures for scrapbook

Look on my daughter's first visit to WDW-  PRICELESS!!

Right there with you bro. Our kids' first visit a couple of weeks ago was amazing. I am waiting for my dad to finish putting the pics on CD so I can load them here. And yes, Cinderella is cute. ;)

It's A Small World is still there? I still have bad dreams about that ride when I was in my teens.

I went on It's a Small World last week for the first time at age 41. I got stopped in the "finale" room for about 2 minutes. It's not a bad ride, but I doubt I'll ever go on it again. You should've gone last week. The lines were very short.

Sounds as if you had a good trip. The key to Disney is that you have to realize it is not about you. It is about your kids. I am planning a big time in Disneyworld next year and I cannot wait! Ariel was fine the last time we went there!

Wow! Glad you had a good trip. My daughter is 5 and son is 2...I can't wait to take them, but I want them to be old enough to ride the big rides with Mom and Dad so we hope to go in the next couple of years. We will need that long to save up for it anyways....expensive trip...but yes it will be priceless to see my childresns face light up! :)
