So far I am really enjoying this game. Navigating Altair along the rooftops and streets is extremely fun. I have read quite a bit of mixed reviews with people either loving or hating this game. I can see how people might find the action a bit repetative but there is a good story being laid out to break up the manotany. The "other" missions and objectives (pickpoket, eavesdrop, interigation) offer a good change of pace to the regular assassinations and let you explore the city. For some people though, that type of thing just isn't their cup of tea. Assassin's Creed caters to a very specific niche and doesn't have a "mass appeal" to a much wider audience like Halo 3. This is why you will find a lot of people that either love AC or hate it. The cinematic element of AC is very impressive. I was finally able to get my hands on some HD cables and have a proper look at AC on a HD TV. The cities and landscapes look great and HD really adds something extra to playing the game. I'm looking forward to the next 7 assassinations and plowing my way through this game while occasionally stopping to smell the roses in the current city of interest. Overall AC offers a good change of pace to the FPS that dominate the 360.
