Back to the front....

Well here it is 4 days later and I bet I wasn't even missed. In case anyone here was actually concerned that I was still alive and not having my dead body chewed on by a German Shepherd, I just want everybody to know that all's well. The Family and I went to California for the last 4 days to bask in the glory that is Disneyland. Or as I like to call it "Dizanyland". Actually it was a pretty nice trip. We rolled out around 7pm on thursday. We went to Seattle and stayed at the Hilton by Seatac airport. Not to bad but not worth the money for only a few hours sleep. We had to be at the airport by 430 am so that meant an early night. On the plane going down we sat in front of the strangest couple I have ever seen. The woman looked like 40 miles of bad road and swore like a sailor on a bender. The Guy, was 70's porn all the way. The whole way down they sat there and talked shit to each other. The conversation went something like this....

Her: "your a fucking pig"
Him " yeah so you've said"
Her. " Fuck you, I am never going on a trip with you again"
Him. " thats what you said LAST Time"
Her " I love you mother fucker"
Him " nobody cares about your opinions"
Her " your a fucking pig"

It went on like this for about an hour until I turned around and told her to shut up as my daughter was waking up and I didn’t want her to learn those words at 4 years old. The "F" words stopped but the love stilled flowed generously from both of them.

Dizanyland was fun. It had been about 20 years since I was there last. I grew up not far from the place so it holds no real attraction for me. My wife and daughter, on the other hand love the place. It really has changed a lot since the 80's. There is a new park (California Something or other) with some pretty bad ass rides. We spent way to much money on food, gifts, beer, margeritas etc but F it we were on vacation. Looking back I remember now why I hate California. Most of the people we saw there seemed to be very narcissistic. They all ran around in there UGG boots (or trendy Converse all stars), way too much gold, frosted blonde hair, and looking like they needed a sandwich.

I love going on vacation because it reminds me how much I love being at home. We had a really good time, Disneyland was absolutely a blast but it was time to come home.
