Um, awkward

I was reading the Erie paper today and stumbled upon an interesting bit in the city & region section.  Apparently, a couple was out at a bar and ended up getting drunk and inviting a few people back to their house.  Well one thing leads to another and the girlfriend kicks everyone, including the boyfriend, out.  She wakes up later to find someone having sex with her.  She assumes it's her boyfriend and goes along with it.  Well, later on she mentions it to her boyfriend who informs her that he wasn't there that night......awkward silence.........

The other guy initially denied it and then confessed that it was him and that she was calling him by her boyfriends name when he was boinking her.

This is just odd in a few ways.  I've tried to copulate with my wife while she's asleep and it just doesn't work.  I've got the bruises to prove it.   So, this chick wasn't drunk enough to stay asleep, but was too drunk to notice the guy humping her and nosily huffing beer breath in her face wasn't her man.  Odd.

I'm Surrounded

So, the neighbor immediately to my right (if your in my apt. looking out) is a director for Youth For Christ.  No biggie, he shares a beer everynow and then and doesn't try to convert me too often.

Well, we had new neighbors move in kitty corner to us, about 3 doors down the other day.  Turns out this guy is the new director of the christian youth center downtown.  The holy rollers are taking over the neighborhood!  I'm kind of kidding, don't get your panties in a bunch.  They're good guys with great families, it just seems a little strange....

Most of my extended family is from the Boston and NH area.  Growing up I'd usually make it up there twice a year or so.  I always remember the hot dogs, the horribles parade up in Glouster and the fireworks on the Charles.  I haven't been up there since last May I think.  This year I'm taking the wife and kid up for the 4th.  The wife has never been up there, so we'll have plenty to do.  It's such a great city, between the modern attractions and the history.  Whenever I'm in the area my grandmother and I usually have a lunch date at the top of the hub, great food and an even better view (see below)

And I'm going to do my best to be down in Cambridge watching the fireworks on the 4th. In my opinion its a "must do" if you're ever in the area.  The sprint to the T with 250,000 other people when it's over is just great.  The opportunity to be mashed together with sweaty strangers from all walks of like coming together to celebrate our nations heritage is unparalleled.  If you happen to be down there around that time keep an eye out for me.
