Too many choices are a blessing aren't they? In any case I am learning to narrow my options within my personal gaming categories. Once upon a time I thought that shooters alone ruled. After spending hours, days, months and yes years with certain games, I now know that Bethesda and Bioware are among my favorite game developers. The developers vs the titles are edging out previous criteria for game dollar allocation.
Started playing Oblivion in 2005 (when it launched-or was it 2006?) and completed it with my third or fourth character this February. I decided to do the 100% because Skyrim is launching in November and I have it already on pre-order. Now that's a commitment. I know I should finish Red Dead Redemption but some of the controls and limitations are irritating. Planning on giving Rock Star another roll with LA Noire and we'll see how that goes. Dead Space is one of the best shooters around with a story line and if I could have, I would have completed it on the hardest level.
With Bungie and infinity ward going different directions, perhaps Dice will capture their crowns. In any case it is great to be a gamer. Although the console exclusives seem to be few and far between. Not a rabid fan-boy of anything, so this doesn't bother me. But what about Sony's troubles? WOW!! Makes me want to get my info off LIVE. Have been using the cards for a couple of years now and will not change that. This hack will make changes and probably some that we do not want. Makes Gabe's statement that the PS3 version of Portal 2 "will be the best" rather premature.
The future of gaming is going digital so many experts say but still, I like a disk. When the weather outs the satellite and I cannot play downloadable, then I want my games on a disk! More game changers are coming and the people looking for big money in the entertainment field will make many changes, not all for the best.
