Shared on Tue, 10/05/2010 - 08:25Harvest is full-on in the our neck of the plains. Soybean harvest is completed and corn harvesting has begun. Kept a semi-truck busy yesterday and also hauled in loads of corn to the ethanol plant with the tractor. I have been on the lunch detail since I finished hauling in wagon-loads of beans. I think I was the only female hauling in two wagons at a time with the 1 ton pick-up. It takes a Dodge to get things done. Very dusty job and when the truck won't shift out of low its only 10mph (or less) until you get enough speed up, shift the automatic into neutral and push on the floor stick to get out of four wheel drive in low. The wagons put a lot a pressure on the hitch and unless I was on a level piece of black top or a slight downhill, I could not get the tranny to shift up. 45 minutes to go 14 miles with my load and much faster, 45 mph, on the return trip. Got good use out of my Nook reader while I was waiting in line to dump the beans into the ground auger at the elevator. If I was behind a semi trailer, I got alot of reading done until it was my turn to empty wagons.
Anyway, completed Halo Reach and need to finish it on a tougher level but have been distracted again by Mass Effect 2. Put in Fable 2 to review what i had left to do and i am just lost there now. The Fable 3 comes out soon and the Fallout Vegas. Have them both pre-ordered. Am I an rpg junkie? Well, Halo multi-player is excellent and has kept me away from BFBC2, which I need to correct. Short blog today.....have to babysit this afternoon and need to get some bean soup started for supper. Guess the guys will get sandwiches in the field today. Did make them chocolate chip cookies, though. Happy fraggin' to everyone else. :)
