Friggin XBOX

Well today I was playing COD 4 and all of a sudden it froze on me, nothing new it happens randomly. So I reset it, though thinking to myself great here we go. So I turn it back on and it freezes on the boot up screen. I turn it off and back on again, bam the damn red ring of death. I am uber pissed right then so I decide to try it again it works but only for a bit. I am able to get into a session of team slayer on Halo 3 and it freezes on me again. Now I am unsure if I can get it fixed since it is not a constant RROD. Any thoughts? I called support and they are updating thier system today. I'm thinking I am just going to tell them its the RROD so I don't have to pay them to fix thier shitty product.
