It appears the space station toilet is broken:

Having seen far too many space movies, the first thought that jumped into my head upon reading this was, don't they have 'airlocks'? Go into the airlock, drop the kids off at the--well, launch the kids into the air, then exit the airlock taking caution not to brush up against the floating balls of shit. Close interior airlock door, open exterior door, whoosh! Problem solved.
Jeez, and I don't even work for NASA.
