Shared on Wed, 08/29/2007 - 15:43The other day I had to go to Chandler mall with the chick. I don't mind much, they have an Atomic Comics and a Gamestop there. So we pass a board game shop. We stop to look in--I picked up a couple oldschool games lately and we've been having fun with them (except when my brother came over for some risk. Oy vey.)
I noticed some puzzles in there, and I really used to dig puzzles as a kid. So I picked up this 3000 piece puzzle, it's like a painting of a bunch of famous buildings and landmarks from all over the world. We get home and start building it on the fold out table I have--whoah Houston, we have a problem. The size of the table is about one quarter of the size of the puzzle. Man I don't remember puzzles being that damn big when I was a kid! The sucker is about 4' x 3'. It doesn't sound that big but it was way more than I expected.
And yes the size of the puzzle is on the side of the box but it's in metrics, so I kind of glanced at it and said screw it, it's a puzzle--how big could it be? Well I guess now I know the answer to that question.
Oh also, I left the box open when we went to dinner and when we returned I discovered 2 partially chewed pieces on the ground. WTF is with dogs--they have heightened sense of smell, and the damn things are natural carnivores. And yet they felt they needed to taste these flat puzzle pieces that smell like cardboard. The best part is, next day I was removing the turds from the back yard and noticed a pile of weird blue color fuzzy turds. Either it was more puzzle pieces, completely chewed and compressed into turd fuzz form, or else one of the labs had eaten a wad of laundry lint. I guess when I get the puzzle finished I'll discover the truth.
More random notes--I'm going up to Lake Powell for the weekend to stay up on the company houseboat. It's gonna be great, but man! I just picked up 2 new games last night and I still haven't finished Bioshock. Not that I'm complaining--real life Ski-Doos beat the hell out of video games any day--but at least I know I won't be dreading coming home Monday!
Oh yeah and....Viva la F the BETA!!!!!!!
