Stupid song

Here's the random annoyance of the day.  There is a song they play on Sirius Hits 1 (which I listen to sometimes out of sheer laziness) called 'Our Song'. It's some rednecky country sounding song, I don't know why they play it on the hits station. Probably because it's annoying as hell and they want to force me to change the station--but I refuse! My remote control broke so when I change the station I have to lean way up forward to reach the control up on the dash, and this causes a number of driving hazards. So I am acting in the public's best interest by leaving it set where it is.

Anyway this song has a lyric in it that makes me wonder if there is any quality control at all for songwriters. Seriously, I wonder if Avril Lavigne wrote this song because it's got such a first-grader quality to the lyrics.  The lyric goes something like 'I like it when he talks on the phone real slow, because it's late and his momma don't know'.

Seriously, he talks real slow? Shouldn't that be 'low'? I remember talking on the phone late at night when I wasn't supposed to, and never once did I talk 'slow' to avoid discovery.  How the fuck is that supposed to help you evade mom's telephone rules? It seems like you'd want to talk fast so you could get more information into the limited time you had, but no, this fuck is slowing down his speech for no reason at all.  Talk LOW you stupid dipshit, not slow.

I even looked up the lyrics to this one to make sure I wasn't hearing it wrong and it does appear to be 'slow'.  This girl probably sings the damn song hundreds of times and I wonder if she's ever thought how damn stupid it is. She's got to be in high school to be singing this song so maybe she just believes every damn thing the guy tells her.  'Why are you talking so slow?' 'Be...cause.....it's.....late.....and......my.......mom.....ma......don't......know'.  'Oh, I gotcha, but why don't you just keep your voice down?'
