Ah the holidays....gotta love it!

Well I don't know about you, but our household is now in full holiday swing.  My wife put up all the Christmas decorations a couple days before Thanksgiving.  Our house is now populated by dozens of snowmen and other holiday knick knacks.  As usual, we "don't have enough" and she is planning a trip to get more.

Thanksgiving was great.  Awesome to get time with family, even if it was only a little while for some.  Great food and great company....can't beat it.  We even managed to get in a few games of GH3 with the family.

Kids have now prepared their Christmas lists, although I think a 3 page document can no long be classified as a "list".  Bless their hearts.  Their eyes are truly bigger than their toyboxes.

Christmas card preparation is now in full swing.  My wife got her specially ordered, custom made cards in the mail the other day and she typed out the Christmas newsletter last night.  Addressing is in progress as I write this.  Now I just need to take out a small loan to buy all the stamps we need in order to mail them all.

The wife and I started a bit of Christmas shopping already too which is a bit ahead of schedule for us.  Hopefully we can get it all done prior to the week before Christmas this year.  Its a lofty goal for us but I think we can reach it!

Extra special gift this year is that my cousin is back and will be with us for the holidays for the first time in almost 6 years.  He had some trouble with the law when he was younger and was in jail until last summer.  He has truly turned his life around and its great to see him doing so well now.  It's been great having him back with us and his presence will make this year's festivities all the better.

And the number one way to know we're now in the holiday mood?  We have updated our respective myspaces with holiday themes and songs.  Its funny how much myspace can become an extension of yourself and relect all the changes in moods and whatnot.  Sad, lol.

My holiday wish this year is that everyone doesn't get so wrapped up in the material hooplah and shopping madness and they remember the true reason for the season.  Our Lord is great and I hope he blesses each and every one of you.

Peace all!
