Well, Happy New Year, Friends. We’re only 5 days in, and it’s already ridiculous and intriguing.

There was a lot of pre-Christmas talk about how there would be a surge of “Christmas noobs” playing MW3. (You know, people not yet familiar with the game, and therefore temporarily worse than me – easy pickens.) Well, this turned out to NOT be the case. There were new people, but they were not easy pickens. These kids must be naturals or something, because I had a brand new level 4 kick my rear end up one side of the map and a level 6 kick it back down the other! I think I still have bruises.

Hey - what do you think the chances are that this year, Santa brought them a brand new Pact with the Devil to go with their game(s)?

I’m just saying…

Of course, it doesn’t help that most of my clan is on vacation, or disappeared down the Skyrim hole… Reinforcements have been few.

Christmas brought me (finally) the Tropico 4 game I’ve been wanting, but all the stores around here are out of Saints Row the Third. However, I have a Best Buy rain check for 35 bucks if they ever have them in stock again.

I don’t know how many people have, or are, playing Tropico 4, but it’s quite a lot of fun to be ruler of an island paradise! It’s all management, though. There’s no shooting, but there’s building and governing, and you have to make sure your people are fed, and that the other world powers don’t attack you. I like it. It’s funny though, because each part of the campaign is a different island you have to start from scratch on. So, at the beginning, I was very benevolent, I paid my workers very well, they had nice apartments to live in for free, and my unemployment rate was 0. Now I have them living in shacks, and starving in the streets, and the trouble makers get executed! Also, I just told China to er, service itself. It seems I’m becoming evil with power….. bwah-ha-ha……

I’m looking forward to SR3. Everything I’ve heard says it’s weird and funny – and completely unladylike – and I think I’m gonna dig me some co-op on this one.

I hope everyone had a pleasant and safe holiday season, and I’m looking forward to plenty of gamey goodness this year.
