 Heya….. So we got some more DLC for Saints Row the Third called Gangstas in Space, and umm… it was really disappointing. I played through the whole thing in less than two hours AND got all ten achievements. (I’m not upset about the extra Gamerscore, but heck – anything you can play through once, and get ten achievements, in less time than it takes to watch a movie…..?? *Sigh* I think I’d rather spend my money on the movie. Then again, I do likey me the achievements! )

This past week also saw a new little ditty from the Alan Wake franchise. I absolutely loved the original game. The two DLCs they made for it – not so much. They want 15 bucks for it, and after the experience I just had with gangstas, it’s going to drive me a little crazy, but I think I’ll wait until it goes on sale – and it will go on sale at some point. Once it gets down to 600 mspts or less I’m in.

I was telling Husband this very thing last night, and we were discussing about how I haven’t paid full price for a game – even one I pick up on day 1 – in over a year. Part of that is because I don’t know if a game is going to turn out to be a big piece of diddly or not. Husband works so hard for our money, and things are tight, ya know? I don’t want to spend, say 60 bucks, and not get 60 bucks worth of entertainment out of it.

Gangstas in Space was nothing more than fluff – filler to make the Season Pass seem like a logical purchase – FAIL! – and I’m glad I didn’t fall for it.

Boy, I tell you what – I am very quickly learning that just because a game is really well done, doesn’t mean the same effort went in to the extra content. I’m at point now where I’m like “how about we just save this content for the next game, and then you guys will have more time to work on it, and then the next game will pick up just where this one left off.” They could even start a new trend. Instead of SR3, and then SR4, they could have SR3 1/2, or some funky name like Saints Row Liaise or Saints Row the Third: Intermediate.

A couple of side notes real quick: I’m a little perturbed that Borderlands 2 won’t be out until September, and did the R2-D2 Xbox just crawl away and die?
