Shared on Fri, 12/28/2007 - 22:22Christmas 2007 was definitely a good time for all in the NoGame household. My son who is 2 1/2 had his first Christmas where he actually participated in the excitement of the holiday season.
The night before we went over to my brother in laws' house and had some fun playing rock band with the different generations of folks. Let me tell you it is really amusing and fun to watch my wifes grandmother play drums (she's 75). I brought over the whole set up as my BIL doesn't have the game, but does have an Xbox. So I had to lug over the drums, mic, and 2 guitars.
Was it worth it? Most definitely as everyone even my wife's parents got in on the action and had a great time.
My wife and I stayed out late and kept my son up past his bed time (8:30 EST) so we had to rush our set up for Christmas morning. We put out the cookies and milk / letter to Santa when we got home and then it was off to bed for my son, who needless to say was a little riled up.
Since he stayed up so late we had to wake him up in the morning, and let me say he wasn't happy at least until we told him that Santa came. When he first woke up he gave me the WTF look until I said, "Hey buddy I think Santa came you might want to go out and check." After that he jumped out of bed like a man on fire to go check out his haul. He didn't get much from my wife and I as we knew he would be getting a lot from her side of the family (he's the first grandson).
He ran out in the living room to find a 2 1/2 foot long fire truck complete with flashing lights, ladder, and the rest of the bells and whistles. To accompany that he got (from us anyway) a huge firetruck floor puzzle, and a few other assorted gifts.
After we were done opening the gifts at our house it was off to the in-laws for breakfast and gift giving. My wife and I got a new camera and printer which are awesome, but my son was the real winner on the day.
Anyway lets just say that the little guy is very fortunate to have such giving aunts, uncles, and grandparents.
To add to the excitement I received a job offer for a financial advising position a few days prior to the Christmas. I have accepted and will be on the studying train for the next few months as I attempt to pass the Series 7, Series 66, and life and health exams in order to become a full time employee.
So if I'm not online over the next few months that is why.
My wife and I are excited and looking forward to moving on to a new chapter in our lives. Wish us luck.
Hope everyone had a great holiday.
