First Birthday

My son is turning one on Tuesday.  Wow, I cant believe how fast times flies.

A year ago this time we were biting our nails with anticipation.  My wife was hospitalized after about a month of bed rest due to pre-eclampsia which it turns out is quite dangerous if left untreated.  When my wife went to the doctor for a regular check-up ;;the doctor told us that because of her blood pressure Melissa was going to be hospitalized and possibley induced.  We were both shocked and surprised at the possibility of having a premature baby.  Luckily my wife is all about being prepared so we already had the babies room ready.

After 5 days of waiting they finally induced Melissa and eventually she was given a C-section due to her ever increasing blood pressure.  Man let me tell you those were the craziest most nerve racking 5 days of my life, especially the last couple of hours before Andrew (4lbs and 16inches long) was born.  He was a month early so we were quite concerned about his lungs being developed.  Luckily he came out kicking and screaming and nothing was wrong and let me tell you he hasnt quite since.

Anyway I know most of you dont know me, but my wife and I are so thankful for the wonderful son that we have and how healthy he has been that I felt the need to share.  I still cant believe that a year has gone by so quickly.

By the way if you are wondering, that is him on the left above my info.  Cute little fucker.  At least I think so.
