Current status: THE RECEIVER REQUESTED A HOLD FOR A FUTURE DELIVERY DATE. UPS WILL ATTEMTP DELIVERY ON DATE REQUESTED

I'm shipping my xbox in for repair and I got this message from xbox support.com.  I called 1800 my fucking box broke and all they could tell me was that I should call UPS.  I called ups and they told me they had to process an inquiry about why this happened.

Why the hell would the support center ask for another delivery date?  I have no fucking clue.

SOOOOOOOOOO........I'm waiting.  Luckily I've got a band-aid box.

have a good night.

In this case it is not the fault of UPS, the receiver quite possibly requested a hold on all deliveries, probably because they would be closed for the holidays. I used to do customer service for UPS, and it was a regular theme for some places to close for an entire month and request that UPS hold the packages for future delivery, which they will do as long as the receiver is the one paying for the package to be delivered.

It means that the shitbirds at UPS are once again relying on a decades old reputation as a "delivery" service rather then actually doing their jobs. At some point I hope to publish my "American Christmas Carol." It will be the collected Holiday Season transcripts of the screaming fights between me and UPS "customer service" employees as I attempt to explain to them that if they are going to report something as "delivered" it is important that the recipient should be able to locate the package. Actual quote from UPS manager last year- "we had not accounted for the increase in volume due to internet sales." In 2007 they actually had the brazen balls to plead ignorance to the internet.
