SoFla is getting the first cold snap of fall. It got down around 60 F last night and should do the same tonight. Highs may hit 80 F. Time to break out the cold weather gear - parkas, sweats, coats, comforters and blankets. Get them all washed and/or aired out from storage. Good time to air out the condo and maybe turn off the AC.

Also, as SixTGunR pointed out in his blog, the tourists are starting to show up in numbers great enough to be truly annoying. Nothing like great clots of confused and bewildered drivers causing chaos and traffic woes that are unbelievable. My five mile drive to work goes from +10 minutes to +25 within a span of two weeks. Resident SoFloridians get treated to the wonders of drivers forcing their way to make right or left hand turns from intersection center lanes, morons that stop for a light then a minute later decide to run the light, idiots trying to take a U-turn in a grassy median with a normal car, trying to merge into stopped traffic or not accelerating to merge into +70 mph traffic, stopping for a green light because they may want to turn (just have to re-read those directions), trying to get me to roll down my passenger window to ask for directions (sorry, crank window and I can't reach, besides the light just changed), etc.

All that and no 360 stress-relief gaming. Just farking great...

LOL I know thats how it is in hot weather places. When it suddenly drops down to 70 people break out the north pole gear.

I've been living in Sarasota/Bradenton for the last 7 years, and lived in Maine my entire life before that. when I first moved here, I used to laugh at everyone running around in winter coats when it was in the 40's. Well, seven years later...and much blood thinning... I believe I've become a true Floridian. It's nice to have some cooler temps though, the muggy days can really wear on you after awhile.
