Busy, busy, busy...

So much for those 'slow days' in the previous entry, people are still blogging, hitting the forums & site chat. Glad to see Halo 3 hasn't totally dominated everything.

There was a blurb on the regular corporate news media sites regarding Halo 3's first day sales hitting $170 million. Naturally, some people were a bit skeptical of the claim due to Microsoft not providing the raw hard data, but I'm sure that MS will cough-up some barely verifiable data shortly.

In the meantime I've been playing the 360 version of C&C3 while waiting for USPS to deliver my Halo 3 rental. I was hoping to get the rental today or tomorrow and get some play in during my spare non-working hours, but work is going to keep me busier than normal. Hell, I might not even get a chance to get caught-up on my recorded TV shows.

I have about come to a decision to build another Windows box. It appears that Apple isn't forthcoming with a new version of a Mac Pro until maybe after MacWorld in Jan/Feb '08. In the meantime this main Windows box is just giving me grief whenever I want it to actually do anything beyond surf, email, watch videos, record a tv show, listen to music, download pron 'stuff', play old games and emit random 'failure imminent' noises. I figure it shouldn't cost much to just replace the motherboard, ram, cpu & video card. Everything else can be recycled into the new box or into a new DVR build. This will be a new fun project.
