Instead of our usual low 80s the temp may drop into the 50s (high 40s with a 'wind chill factor', whatever that is). It is already low 60s outside, so I've opened the condo & set the vent fans high. Given a few hours I won't have to deal with the A/C for a few days. Too bad this didn't happen at the top of my weekend instead of at the end. Fresh, cold, humid (can't have everything) air should do me good.
I had a bit of a scare yesterday afternoon. After a few hours of Quake 4 I got up to answer natures call and having done that I had a near sycopic episode - in other words, I almost fainted. Its been around seven years since the last full episode, and fortunately I had a visitor that day. Yesterday I had no such luck, so maybe that motivated me to get moving and get out of the condo. I figure if I faint outside my neighbors will eventually call 911 (after a quick search for cash). Lessons to be learned from this - no more marathon gaming sessions, answer nature on the first ring, and lastly, diet and exercise.
While I'm thinking of Quake 4, might as well mention some points to those who haven't played this before. The game has a lot going for it - a good history on the PC platform, being a solid FPS/action game, clever weapons, etc. What the game doesn't have is a quick load time from saves. You really, truly, do not want to die and have to reload in Quake 4. The load times are absolutely horrible - I almost wanted to tear the 360 apart to look for a tape drive that acted like it was being used. The only good thing with saving – you can save anywhere. I applaud the designers for that addition, it saved my bacon so many times it isn't funny.
Oh, well, along with the cold front comes rain. I usually like rain, but since BellSouth has exposed my DSL lines to weather & vandals, I lose the Internet every time it lightly sprinkles. Gotta go call it in again...
