Shared on Fri, 11/30/2007 - 18:29In case you somehow missed the announcements, the fall dashboard update for the xbox 360 will be released on the fourth of December.
Check out the ArsTechnica article.
I'm really psyched about this update since there is a strong rumor regarding MS adding support for DivX, Xvid and MPEG 4 video formats. With the addition of these popular video formats we 360 owners will finally be able to make great use out of the media center aspect of the 360. Imagine, just download your favorite movie or tv show from the intertubes, copy to a flash-drive or DVD and play on the big screen via the 360. Nice & sweet.
MS hasn't stopped there, they are also adding to the gamers profile page. More info will probably be welcome. I wonder if a blog will be next.
Lastly, MS is will be selling old first generation xbox games via download for about $15 (or whatever 1200 points equals in real currency). Sounds like a good way to push the sales on that 120gb drive. Even with aggressive cleaning, my 20gb drive only usually has 12gb free, so a 120gb drive would be a welcome replacement.
Well, maybe a new drive after another warranty exchange for the current barely refurb'd unit.
