I'm a father!

I always thought it would be through a biological process, but ordainment is also good.

I am now an ordained minister with the The Universal Church Triumphant of the Apathetic Agnostic (UCTAA). If you are not careful I may be forced to actively try to convert you. I take a bit of a dim view of proselytizing as Christians have gone barking mad with the idea. So I'll just leave it at the next paragraph unless someone wants more info (and doesn't want to visit the church website).

The UCTAA belief tenets in a nutshell is reflected in the motto - “We don't know and we don't care.” This works well for me as I have had this opinion on religion for most of my life. It is through the entire lack of proof of any supreme being, impossibility of proof of any supreme being with cited attributes, the general apathy of any such supreme being as having neglected to provide any proof of existence, and finally, loss of interest since neither any such supreme being nor its believers care enough to provide proof of existence.

The game de la semaine is, fittingly, Prey. While I didn't think too much of the demo, the game fit into the narrowest of a guideline for rental, namely it was available. If I can find time between work and other hobbies (slack, books, music, movies, tv, sleep) I might give it go and see if the real thing is as awkward as the demo. If it is poor then I guess I could go buy Crackdown or DDR Universe, if it released as Best Buy stated in the weekly ads.

Falelorn made mention in one of his more recent posts about pets. I thought I would just add this short thought. When I was young my family also had a pet. Due to allergies we always had miniture schnauzers. Nice pet for a family with young kids and a long list of allergies. Now that I'm grown I've had one pet – an iguana. If you think a cat is independent and holds animosity towards humans, just try to keep an iguana as a pet. Cats are amateurs next to iguanas in demonstrating an openly hostile attitude. “Feed me, heat me, then leave me alone!” would be the motto of iguanas. If you, or someone you know and like, is thinking about an iguana as a pet, here is a tip – buy/adopt a pet rock instead. The rock will be much less costly and provide more support in the long run.

Here is another good reason not to live in a condo. Last Friday I needed to get to bed early due to project work on Saturday. That didn't work as expected and I got to bed about 2am on Saturday morning; not too bad if I can sleep until 9am. About 4:30am I was awoken by pounding on my front door. The first thing I thought was 'damn police have the wrong condo, again'. Still in the fog of sleep I cannot find clothes to put on, and the pounding ends (not the cops then). I'm back asleep in 10 minutes. Two hours later, 6:15am, I'm awoken by more pounding. Despite the fog I manage to put something on and answer the door. Outside is a dude that says he is from another building. He has locked himself out of his unit and wants maintenance to let him in. The guy knew onsite maint is in my building but not the unit so he pounded on every door in the building until he got someone who could help! I wound up calling the offsite maint person to drive in and help this dude. What a day. Four hours of sleep, awake at 6:15am and have to stay lucid until 11:30pm plus special high-profile detailed work. Went off diet and binged caffeine drinks all day.

I have to admit, I'm not quite sure how to respond to your ordination. Congratulations? Nothing less than that, of course. But, for me, it seems awkward to say the least after having been raised with a strong faith. I wish I could give you the proof you want, but I can't, that is what faith is. You have to find it for yourself. Perhaps you will, maybe not. Do what you need to do for yourself and be happy, that's what is important! BTW, an iguana? You definitely become more interesting all the time. :)
