The other day Mulchinator blogged about giving his 360 a blog. So after a while I thought "what the heck..." and created a blog for my 360. It is kind of a interesting service. At least once a day the website backend goes out and queries MS for info using your gamertag. Throws that data into a database, combines it with some mildly creative writing samples, and produces a blog entry. An interesting 'why didn't I think of that?' (or, 'why didn't doodirock think of that') kind of site design.
Anyway, my 360 blog is here, the Last.FM site is here, and my Flickr pages are here.
Now all I need is a something to combine these, and any more I find/create, into automatic twitter/myspace/facebook/fark entries.
Then I can torture the world with my utterly boring and narcissistic lifestyle. Like millions of other people.
Yea me!
Grrr.
Got Orange Box and despite wanting to jump right into TeamFortress2 I jumped into HalfLife2. Hmm. Battling head crabs, zombies & the combine instead of helping to decimate an enemy team. As many of you have guessed, there must be something wrong with my mental health. When I find out maybe I'll let you know.
In the meantime, Half Life 2 is a joy to play after finishing Halo 3. Guns that actually kill enemies, a path so linear you can't possibly fail to follow, puzzles that don't require much thought (if you think it takes more than three steps, you are over-thinking it), and still a few glitches to hinder straight progress. It seems almost anytime I sit down to play the 360 freezes at some random spot. Usually when my character is turning to survey the area, then blam! frozen. Power-cycle and hope for all green. Then back to the fight.
Since I have another week of training, I can't tell when I'll get into TF2. But hopefully soon rather than too much later.
