I don't think I've had this much fun since, um, the COD4 campaign. I was up until around 1:30am playing and loving it. The game play, the sprinting, the environment, listening to the enemy banter about 'Diplomatic Ultimatum' (or whatever), etc. But don't take that as the game is glitch and bug-free, because it isn't, it just isn't anywhere near as glitchy and bug-ridden as Turning Point.
Fortunately most, if not all, the bugs are carried over from RB6V - trying to get the angle and close enough to 'heal' a teammate, trying to get the other teammate to 'heal' a stricken teammate (whadyamean'nocando'youfarkinshiatheed!!!1!), watching enemies spawn into existence (why can't I/my guys have claymores or trip-mines?), etc.
Some other issues are mine, namely hitting the wrong button. Nothing quite like going to open a door and instead throwing a grenade at it (just let it kill you/your team, it is easier to respawn than try to run away), or wanting to throw a grenade and instead putting on night vision goggles (which seem to inhibit throwing grenades for some reason), stacking your team on a door snaking to find an empty room then issue 'breach and clear' instead of 'open and clear' (yeah, that was stealthy). Grumble, grumble...
For some odd reason (Microsoft), my achievements were not logged. I was signed-on and had my profile, but I don't think xbl was connected or allowing a connection. And, of course, this happened after I moved the 360 to vertical from horizontal to see if I can keep the disk scratching to a minimum (before Gamefly figures out my rentals are coming back with deep gouges & scratches).
Maybe if I do get a ps3 I'll see if I can give this 360 a RROD then send it back for a refurb that has a better DVD drive & working DVD & panel buttons (I'm glad I have that remote).
I case you haven't noticed, some TV shows have started returning. Battlestar Galactica, Reaper, various CSI, Criminal Minds, NCIS, Numb3rs, Big Bang Theory and a few others have been popping back onto my TV recorder schedule. Keep an eye out.
Just to shake the cobs out of the webs, and in that ATT has decided my DSL connection is too stable, so they have taken to giving me random disconnects. I'm not amused. At some point I may just dig out my old POTS modem and call ATT and ask if the dailup backup for DSL is still available. It would be unbelievably slow, but it would be a connection.
Kind of too early to tell, but I think my body appreciated the return of the previous diet. I jacked up the carbs without going over on calories or anything else, and I lost a bit. I hope the slide continues.
