Sitrep - COD3, GoW MP, etc...

COD3 gameplay progressing normally. I usually don't have to repeat areas too many times before getting things right. Major sticking points are the controls (Blockbuster didn't provide a manual) and those irrational and stupid mini-games. The mini-games are something I apparently didn't notice in the reviews. They are there to break-up the sameness of the gameplay. It doesn't appear to work for me as I just get frustrated and pissed at the interruption and silliness of it all.

I think I may be getting better at GoW MP. Last night I was on a server with a lot of great players and I actually managed to get some kills. That is an accomplshment for me. Usually I'm all zeros. Didn't feel like charirty either.

There was one humorous anecdote to share. Doing GoW MP and playing a gear, as usual. Separated from the team and roaming the map, more or less, cluelessly. Saw another player I short distance away and ran up until I could ID as a teammate. Then ran up and hit cover right next. Asked about moving to hit the enemy in the distance and got a answer in the form of a chainsaw. Damn it, damn it, damn it!  That dark gear just looks too much like a locust from even a moderate distance. Guess I'll have to adjust the contrast or gamma on the display.

Some pocket movie reviews...

Crank - Crazy fast-paced action movie starring Jason Statham. I guess it is the anglophile in me that likes Stratham and the movies in which he has acted. Just go to his imdb page and rent any of those movies. I particularly like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. In Crank, Jasons character is injected with an agent that will kill him if his heart rate slows too much.

Idiocracy - Despite the name, this is not a documentary on the Bush administration. It is a very funny movie about the decline of human intelligence. It is a story of a couple hibernation test subjects waking to a world where Beavis and Butthead would be considered geniuses.  Hilarity ensues as the story unfolds.

The Night Listener - Drama, mystery, thills - and Robin Williams?!  Sorry Robin, in my mind you have been typecast as a comedian. Go back on the coke and give us stupid slobs a movie or tv show we can laugh at/with. Okay movie, just too much drama and not enough anything else.
