Shared on Fri, 02/15/2008 - 09:33So, I'm laying in bed last night trying to get to sleep and go off into a semi-lucid dream...
I'm all geared out COD4 marine style and given point to clear some office space ahead. In I go sweeping left, right, struggling to see with the flicking lights and coming to terms with the environmental sounds (and sounds of the following squad). No resistance. I enter a hallway and see movement up ahead but can't quite make it out. So I check the mag and signal the squad and start a double-time to cover the distance, thinking I'm on veteran and running out of time. But then a slight movement catches my eye, but it is a hazy blurring effect, so I slow down. More visual blurring movement and suddenly I feel like the cloaked troopers from Fear Files are around. Knowing the rifle won't hurt them I switch to pistol and start firing at the movement - but I'm not connecting. Then suddenly a blur appears right in front of me, starts turning opaque, Cheshire Cat style - masked face (but somehow I knew it was grinning) then the gun. Just as I realize a gun is pressing mid-line between sternum & navel I see the hammer moving to striker...
Woke up shaking and feeling as if someone had just jabbed me in the gut.
Took almost another hour to get back to sleep.
Anyhow, a diet update...I had a bit of a setback on the 13th, but I'm back on track now. I found the remainder of a bag of chocolate-coated pretzels in a snack container. So instead of eating maybe one a day until they were gone (and writing a 100 cal 'penalty'), I ate them all in one go. That would explain the weight gain on the 14th. But today I am back down to the weight I was on the 12th.
I also started exercising. Yesterday I managed 15 minutes on the elliptical before I couldn't take the muscle fatigue and mental boredom. Today I went out on the bike for 35 minutes - 6.35mi. Fitday says that is 426 calories worth. Nice, for a fresh start after several months of slack. Just gotta keep it up. Then ramp it up.

As usual, comments and criticisms welcome.
