First night was rough and nothing worked right so we wrapped up around 1am. Second night everything worked, but we had to make-up time so we finished at 4am! Tonight the caffeine turned into poison in my body. Heart palps and near syncope episodes. Gotta get out of these projects; the stress is a killer.
The occasional playing of Prey has reminded me why I didn't really like the game – too linear. You are simply guiding your character through each level killing enemies and working through the puzzles. There seems to be little variation or branching of the path. Maybe I just haven't played far enough into the game.
You might think the same thing about GoW or FEAR, but it isn't the same. Both GoW and FEAR have large map areas that you can move around and attack from different angles. There are also short branches or paths from the main. Also in GoW and FEAR there is the active hardcore combat, not following a narrow path and killing 'big dummy' enemies thrown at me.
Maybe tomorrow I'll get out and purchase DDR Universe and/or Crackdown. DDRU looks interesting for the exercise aspect. Crackdown has just had a large quantity of positive reviews and blog posts. Between Prey, doing 'Hardcore' in GoW, DDR-U & Crackdown I should be able to bring my gamerscore into a respectable range.
