Loyalty

Is it my imagination or is Company loyalty to it's employees not really there anymore.   Is the day where you can  feel secure in your job gone?  I know a business is there to make money.  Money is what makes the world go around.   But when did it change where a company feels they can step on it's employees in order to improve there bottom line.  Is it not the employee that helps them achieve there goals?

I currently work for a company that routinely finds itself on the Forbes list of one of the best companies to work for.  I have been with this company for nine years.  In those nine years I have seen all the benefits to it's employees erode away to nothing.  All the perks that made this company a good place to work are now pretty much gone or going.  Don't get me wrong I am no socialist and don't want a free hand-out or anything that I did not earn.

I guess what is upsetting to me is that this company keeps taking away, and yet expects more.   They want your loyalty and your dedication your extra time.  But don't give much back anymore.

I am greatful for a job and a paycheck.  I earn my check.   Lately though I am feeling burned out.  I used to not mind going the extra yard, that extra mile to help the company.  But now I just want to work my hours, do my job and leave me alone.   The Company wants me to walk the extra mile, but my shoes are just worn to thin....

Am I wrong in this assumption?   Maybe I need a vacation.
