A close family friend had passed away and wanted to be burried with his children in the small rural town of Marseilles Ohio. Well to make a long story short. During the drive to the cemetrary every single car, semi, tractor, etc..... pulled over to the side of the road to show respect. Hats where taken off when we drove by people in there yards. The local Methodist church opened there doors for us and even feed us after the funeral. This is all for a family that had not lived in the area for over 30 years.
The last funeral I went to in a pretty large city went like this...... Cars butting there way into the funeral procession, people giving us nasty looks at the stops lights. Even saw a punk kid flipping off the hearse because it might have added two minutes on his commute to Mall. The church folks where friendly but you could tell they wanted us out of there as soon as possible.
My future wife and I have decided after we are married to live in a small town in Michigan. this small town has a McDonalds, Grocery store, and a Dairy Queen. That pretty much sums it up. But I would not have it any other way. My future wifes cousins all live in the Burbs of Detroit. They call us Hillbillies and hicks for wanting to live in a small town. But they can have there traffic, crime, and rude people.
To each it's own, I know.... but for me....
Green Acres is the place to be, Farm living is the life for me...........
O.K. Im not a farmer, but you get the idea...
