However this paragraph says it all. It WILL be what the industry moves toward, in some form, bank on it.

They're already selling cars WITHOUT spare tires to reduce weight and increase mileage...

Non pneumatic tires have been around for a little while. The honey comb stuff is new. I wonder how nice those things will ride when the middle is clogged with mud or ice/snow.

Yeah, but the honeycomb things only been proposed by a handful ( less really) so far. There's been non pneumatics AS spare tires for years, and solid rubber tires on forklifts/lift trucks way longer. Not exactly what we're looking at here though.
On the plus side, I predict a return of the knock off / spinner hub! Anyone say MG?
