I recently read 1984 by George Orwell. I must say a very interesting and yet disturbing book. It has been like a large meal, taking a little time to digest. I won't give away any details in case you want to read it.

I would recommend it to any interested in politics or social studies.

It is especially scary when you see what our media does and the thought that in major cities in the U.S., cameras are cropping up everywhere (almost as bad as London). Make you feel safer or that you are being spied upon by the government? Your internet traffic can be monitored, your telephone conversations can be recorded and checked for key words by computer programs and flagged for the government to review, and this is in the "land of the free"!

Excellent book.I would recommend"1985",by Anthony Burgess(Author of Clockwork Orange)-Also ,the former chief of the Secret Police in East Germany was a big fan of 1984.He had his office re-named"Room 101" I kid you not.Remember"Freedom is Slavery".
