As a certain clan member is looking to purchase a bike, I thought this was interesting.

Quote:
(AP) Mount Carmel police say a Kingsport man clocked driving a motorcycle 156 miles per hour may have been testing the town's new speed enforcement cameras. Authorities said 23-year-old Loda Eugene Ward Jr. has been charged with reckless driving.

Police say the cameras were not activated last week, but an officer on patrol clocked him at the high speed. Police did not pursue but an arrest warrant was issued and they detained Ward on Sunday.

Mount Carmel police said Monday they suspect Ward was testing the cameras because he had removed his license plate to avoid detection.

Police say the camera's maker has assured the department they will capture the image of a vehicle speeding up to 200 mph.

Wonder when someone in a supercar will try the "up to 200MPH" statement

Short little story. I worked at a gas station, had a drive off, called police. "We can't do anything about it but write out a report." "But officer, he fled out of here with stolen gasoline, nearly hitting vehicles on the road upon his exit!" "Did you see the person pumping the gas?" "No I didn't sir, but I have the vehicle description, and license plate number." "Well we can do nothing because you cannot verify who was operating the vehicle." AH HA! So did they see this biker's face? I think not. Can you really issue a citation to a vehicle and not a person? Surely you could, but what other factors would there be to catch someone with these cameras? Can you charge 3 people with the same crime even though only one person could have done it?

Well surely Baine won't get caught...don't those cameras record vehicles and occupants over 3 feet high?

That would be neat to test to see if a person could get away with it over 200mph.
