Ahhh, the LAN

I've been busy. I really have. So busy that I just remembered the LAN was this weekend and just found out TODAY that it is the last one. That alone may have gotten me there this year. Sad. I have been to two LANs in Chicago and a smaller one in Philladelphia and they are so much FUN!!!!! Do we actually game? Well, yeh. But there is so much more. Friends you've never met. Friends you have met but haven't seen for a year. Mike James! What will we do without that guy every year? And when will I ever get a group of people to bet on whether or not I will do the tequilla shot? btw, I won $40 on that bet! And Rock Band going almost constantly. That is entertainment by itself. The only experience I have ever had where the word "fuck" is heard no less than, well, all the time. And it's all right, cuz it is us and we rock!

Having been very involved in LAN promotion in the past, I am very aware of the money situation on both sides. Doodi sticks his neck out every year, and almost always loses. It is very expensive, as some have pointed out, to buy a plane ticket, pay for rooms, and the entry fee, for 3 days of drunken debauchery. Yeh, I'm here to tell ya, that it is not as wild as we make it sound. Yes, there is "stuff" going on. Yes, a lot of drinking. But I have never felt compromised or worried about what could happen to a female amongst so many males. Even in that atmosphere, I was always treated with respect, which I have always appreciated. And I gave and got lots of hugs. mmmmmm

So, I hope all that are there are having the time of their life. I miss you guys and gals. I miss having breakfast with Bubba and Tammy, going into town with whoever...., hearing "hey Pearly" from across the room. Booooo.
