Shared on Mon, 12/17/2007 - 19:30Christmas is coming......it's almost here. So I put up the tree today (finally). I have been told that I don't do the "Mom" things I used to any more. My daughter tells me she wants to be just like me when she is my age. Oh yeh, I'm sure she does. She has been just like me her entire life, why change now? But she is the one that told me I have changed and don't do the "Mom" stuff any more. Well, she's right. As I was putting up the tree, I realized that every decoration I have for Christmas was made with my own two little hands. Christmas tree decorations, Granny Santa, which is a doll that hangs on a doorknob. The tree skirt is a quilted thingee. So is the "inside wreath" I hang on the closet door in the living room. I have a family of bunnies I made with clothes and all. One I made for my older gson when he was about 3. It's the same size as he was. Oh yeh, then there are the cross stitch pics all over the house. I made the curtains for every single window. Everyone has their own quilt hand stitched by me. I don't do any of that stuff any more. In a way it's too bad. But where would I put all the new stuff if I started "crafting" again? I am more interested in other things!
