Blog drama

I have just read all the drama about blogging, getting caught at work, saying whatever you want, etc.  It's all opinion, anyways.  I like to blog.  I don't really say too much.  Well, sometimes.  But, since I am basically apolitical, I don't have to worry about saying the wrong thing about that.  I just blog about my daily life, not much detail, and I doubt anyone would ever be interested in finding out who I am or finding a way to harrass me because of what i say.  One thing I NEVER do is blog at work.  I'm lucky if I have time to scan the website, let alone blog.  But, that is beside the point.  Those of you that look at stuff you shouldn't at work should know, yes, you are very likely being monitored!  My last job made it very clear that they did indeed monitor, and I believed them and left it alone.  Now, I see others at my clinic abusing the use of the internet all the time.  Yes, I say abuse because it is "against the rules" to use the computer for anything other than patient related business.  The fact that "everybody does it" will not get you off the hook if it is discovered that you have been doing whatever........and got caught.

Another place to be careful is the infamous myspace, facebook, and others like it.  Facebook is putting it out there that it is a good place to meet others in a more adult manner than myspace.  That is to say, find other "friends" that might help in employment, adult discussion, whatever.  Crap!  From what I have read about it, it is far more likely to hurt than help.  Yes, you might display your resume, or brag about how expert you are in a certain area, but, all you have to do is say the wrong thing elsewhere on the site and, BAM, potential employers will move on.  It is a great way to find out information, good or bad, about you.  Yes, I am an "inactive" member of both of these sites, just cuz I was invited.

One more thing!  I was very naive when I first started blogging on this site.  For some crazy reason, I thought it was only viewable by site members.  WRONG!!!  My blog has been read, in the past, by my husband.  Not good!  Well, it was when we were having some, um, problems, and he was trying to find out what I was up to.  Now he knows what I am up to and doesn't read it any more!  Maybe......  Just, be careful what you say.  Anyone can read it.
