Shared on Fri, 01/05/2007 - 06:57What a day I had yesterday! Whew! I was up at 6:00 and my 4 year old grandson, Adtler, arrived at 6:30 for a 2 day stay. He watched PBS Kids while I chatted with a friend for waaaay too long. Time to get busy. Took down the Christmas tree (finally!) and packed everything away in boxes and hauled them out to the shed. Had to do some clan/recruitment stuff, so back to my laptop. Sent some emails, read all the sooo interesting posts on this website, made some of my own, OMG, it's lunch time already!
I got hubby a computer for Christmas. Yep, he is the last person on earth that doesn't know squat about computers and has never even touched one. I have never been able to convince him to learn, cuz, he says, he has me to look things up on the net. ACK! But, he has recently been convinced by a few friends that he has got to get with the program! So, to my great surprise, he enrolled in a computer class. Wellllll, i don't want him messing with my toys, so, he had to have his own. That was the next thing on the agenda, setting up a new computer. After looking around for a good place to put it, we discovered, there was no good place to put it. So, I grabbed Adtler and shopping we went. At the second store, I found a cute little computer desk, I mean, little! Perfect! Bought it, took it home, assembly required. That's my job. I'm the one with the good hands. After a fair amount of starts and stops, and a little bad language, (Adtler was right there helping, you know), I got it together. Cute! Where to put it...... Found a good place, and the computer finally came out of the box. I have set up a few computers, so that went pretty well. Gilbert, did you get the surge protector I asked you to get? NO?????? Well, it will be back to the store today for a surge protector and a wireless thingee so we don't have to run network wire all over the house. And, by now it is supper time. Where did the day go? Fixed supper, consumed supper, cleaned up, man, am I tired. Oh, did I forget to say, all the time I was doing these various things, Adtler was whining "what can I do to help?" and other annoying things, and losing my screws, etc. He also broke up all the styrofoam packaging he could get his hands on, which proceeded to spread over the entire house. AND, he tried to clean it up, making matters worse. What a kid he is!
I announced I was getting some R&R and went upstairs to fire up the PC. The one with the games and stuff. lol. The little whiney boy wanted to play games with me, and I was just not going there. Let me tell you, this kid is persistent. So I offered him a little cheese with his whine, and that didn't go over too well. OK, bath time. Ahhh, Not me, Adtler. This day had gone by so quickly! I got him into bed, locked myself in the room with the computer, and finally got my R&R. Ahhhhhhh.
