Called into work, not so bad

I got called into work yesterday, cuz they were short.  Not bad.  I could use the extra money.  I had already worked the Monday I never work, as a favor, and he gave me Tuesday off.  Mistake!  I ended up working anyways.  Four days in one week.  Yikes!  Ask me how I am Friday...  But I am off today and have things to do!

So, my very first patient yesterday was someone I dearly luv.  She is very sweet (sometimes) and easy to talk to.  She asked me what I was planning for my 'next running away from home'.  I told her about the LAN, and how great it was.  And I told her about the cruise coming up in a couple weeks.  She looked at me with concern on her face, and said, "you don't seem too happy about the cruise".   Well, I'm not.  I didn't plan it.  It is at a bad time of year, hurricane season.  It costs too much for both cruise and flight.  But, it's a family thing....my niece's 5 year anniversary.  They were married on a cruise ship with 60 family and friends in attendance.  Good times.  I feel I have to go this time cuz it is an opportunity to see my brothers and, well, I just have to.  That led to a discussion about my marriage.  Yeh, she sorta figured that one out pretty quickly.  I told her about the age difference between me and hubby and some other stuff.  She was shocked!  "But you are so young!"  Thank you for that, M!  I also told her I had other interests to keep me occupied, and she said "you go, girl".  Nice.  It's funny how she saw thru me so easily.  Without actually saying anything with words, we had an understanding right there in the middle of clinic.  Sweet.  Somehow, she knows me....
