The Continuing Saga

Now the story has changed a little.  Prolly to our benefit, tho.  Several years ago, our house was broken into.  It was the kids that lived across the street (yea!) and, to make a long story short, we got some of our stuff back, they paid retribution, and we called ADT to come put some security stuff in.  All has gone well since.  Burglars and such don't like that ADT sign and will move on, pretty much.  But, we now know fer sure where the leak came from.  The motion detector in the kitchen area.  Yep.  They screwed it right into the pipe.   Very slow leak, but it is the main pipe that drains the whole upstairs.  Yeh, everything.    We are now in the process of getting ADT to pay to fix stuff.  As you can see, the floor has been torn up, the wall covering the pipe has been removed.  Oh, can't see that in the pic, but it is now gone.  And, there is a fair sized hole in the floor with a good amount of rotten wood to replace.  The plumber was here yesterday and replaced the pipe.  Now we are waiting on the ADT insurance guy to come and try to say either that it wasn't their fault or we waited too long and they are no longer responsible.  Well, it has been, um, 10 years?  Not sure.  But, a leak like that is very, very slow and damage is not obvious for sometimes years.  In our case, we started noticing loose tiles.  What a mess!
