Shared on Sun, 11/18/2007 - 13:33Thanksgiving is Thursday. Ya, I know y'all know that. We rarely have dinner on Thanksgiving due to work schedules,. so I will be cooking Friday. Hmmmm, I'm been asked to list the menu so we are sure to have everything we need. D'oh! Turkey! Sweet potatoes! Cranberries! Stuff for dressing/stuffing the turkey! Pumpkin to make a pie with! Anything else? The menu has been the same since I was a baby, a loooooong time ago. It will be the same this year, too. My daughter and grandbabies will be here. Oh yeh, their daddy, too. And his parents. So, that makes 8 of us, not too bad. I used to cook for around 20 when I still lived up north. Whew, they were hanging from hooks on the ceiling, sitting on each others' laps, wherever there was a spot. It was fun. There were six of us, with all of our children. Wow. Now, the family is even bigger. Some are gone. My generation is at the top now that Mama and Daddy are both gone. But, we each have at least 2 kids, and they all have kids, and some of them have kids. I am the youngest, but the most sane in my immediate family , so I am now the matriarch, and my brother Danny the patriarch of our huge family that is spread out over a few states. Mostly they are in Michigan, Ohio, Texas, New Mexico, North Carolina, and Arizona. Hard to keep track of, yes. Sooooo, let me see about the menu......
