This is the rest of that article I posted the other day.  These are "Tips".  They make a lot of sense.  Words to live by......

  • Value your friends.
  • Don't change because you want to please a certain friend. Always be yourself.
  • Be there for your friends. They need you.
  • Familiarity breeds contempt. Don't be so common to them that they take you for granted. Be willing to give the friendship a breather so when you meet up again it's still a good friendship. It's like Twisted Sister says, "you gotta stay hungry".
  • Always be there for them no matter what.

I have an idea this was aimed at young people, kids......  But it makes sense to me.    Always be there no matter what..........  hmmmm, I better call Michelle.

It's funny. I have a friend in Germany. We NEVER talk or see each other, maybe once a year. When we do, it's like old times.

I met my best friend when we were both 6. I moved when I was 11, but we still saw each other when I would visit my dad. After HS and a year of college I moved back to my hometown and we began to hang out with each other more. Then he got a job, I got a girlfriend, yada yada. He was the best man at my wedding. He is the only person (besides my wife and I) to attend every Christmas party we have thrown for the last 21 years. He lives 300 miles away, but he's the one I call when I hear "Detroit Rock City" on the radio. pH
