The gym and memories

Yikes!  I finally went back to the gym today.  I haven't been there ever since I got some news about a month ago that caused me to slip temporarily into the danger zone.  Well, baby, I'm back!  I purposely did not listen to tunes or an audio book so I could have the time to think.  Nice.  I have sooo much to think about.  First thing, I weighed in.  Not too bad.  Even tho I actually look better with a little meat on my bones, I still would like to lose about 5 lbs.  It's either that or go shopping for a size larger on the rear anatomy.  One of my brothers nicely pointed that out to me on the cruise.  Nice, bro.  I hate shopping, so, 5 lbs it is.

The workout was a little tough, after being such a slacker/slug for a month.  I took 5 lbs. off some of my upper body weights cuz I didn't want to aggravate my little injured shoulder.  But, other than that, I did the whole weight circuit and 35 mins on the treadmill with little difficulty.  I am gonna be soooooo sore, tomorrow, tho.

Seeing people I haven't seen for a very long time brought back memories, some good, some bad.  I haven't seen one of my "sisters" for, omg, prolly 30 years.  I know, that dates me.  Who cares?  We were sooooo close.  Went to high school together.  Married each other's brothers.  Divorced each other's brothers.  And then, she left.  She went to New Mexico to start a new life that didn't include any of us in any way.  For me, the loss of this friendship was very, very bad.  I was angry at her for leaving and for not telling me she was going.  Long story.  But, when we saw each other after all this time, we ran up to each other and hugged like we would never let go.  We spent so much time catching up.  Her fondest memory was of us as teenagers.  This is tooo funny.  I had an old Ford my parents let me drive and we would all go out to this secluded place and party.  It was an empty lot in the woods where a house had burned down, which we called Chimney Hill.  Lots of parties went on there.....  We were coming back from one with a carload of drunk teenagers, me driving.  I thought I counted the side roads so I would know when the road ended.  NOT!!!  The road ended and we zoomed across the street (lucky no cars!) and jumped a ditch and landed in a snow drift in a field.  Next thing I know everyone is laughing so hard.....  Everyone jumped out of the car, pushed it back to the road, and now it's a great story to tell.  Well, maybe not great...  I guess ya had to be there.  lol

I now have invites to all the places my family has spread out to.  I have a sister that has remarried (finally) and lives winters in Arkansas and summers in Maine.  Nice.  Other places?  New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, Michigan, Ohio....  Wow!  What a road trip that would be!   Sounds like more thinking/planning.......
